2. The Athletic Facility Arms Race is Heating up

There is growing competition out there to see who can produce the best athletic facilities. It is happening everywhere:

  • College athletics– and not just the Power 5 Conferences. Teams from all level of competition (Division 2, Division 3, Junior College and Club Teams) are all building new facilities and lockers are small, necessary, integral piece to the puzzle.
  • Professional Teams
  • High Schools
  • Prep Schools
  • Youth Club Teams

“Keeping up with the Jones”

It doesn’t matter at what level you’re playing at, everyone is trying to out produce their rival program on and off the field. The different type of improvements can include:

  • Athletic wood lockers
  • Turf Fields
  • Locker Rooms
  • Practice Facilities
  • Training Centers
  • Lounges
  • Workout and Weight Rooms
  • …….and……yes……Waterfalls

The reality is if you’re not making improvements student athletes or potential free agents will sign elsewhere. Hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent on new facilities and athletic team lockers are a popular piece to the puzzle. Lockers are an easy upgrade. An Athletic lockers project can be completed during a renovation as well as for an entire new facility. All lockers are built as individual units and can be easily moved or adapted to a new space if the time comes.

3. Those Old Metal Lockers Just Don’t Cut it Anymore

Look Familiar?

Ok, maybe your lockers aren’t that bad but you get the idea. Athletic Team Rooms are a critical stop on the recruiting visit. They are the selling point to any recruit. The idea is to have players spend more time together in the locker room. An area with dingy, old metal lockers won’t cut it. Not when other schools are upgrading. Don’t be the last team in! Athletic Lockers Made From Wood are Built to Last

Gone are the days where you have to worry about the finish on new wood lockers wearing off. Every Prozone Athletic unit is provided with a 3 step UV cured finish that is going to last a long time. When you purchase new stalls you are making a significant investment. Get started today and have peace of mind that your lockers will last long into the future.

4. Your Alumni Will Thank You

Alumni want to give back to the place that helped them become the person and player they are today. When former players see the work, dedication and investment being put into their old team they will want to help in any way the can. Engaged, active alumni are more willing to give back to athletics and with new lockers they can add that personal touch. There can be no better way to honor those alumni then using donor plaques inside for future player to remember.

5. Secure those valuables

By adding a custom lock box to your locker you can be sure that expensive items such as iPhones, iPads, Wallets, jewelry, etc. will be secure. Realistically these aren’t high security vaults, but they will get the job done. A popular addition would be to include a Dual USB / Power outlet inside each lockable space to charge portable electronics when not in use.

6. Healthy Environments

Prozone Athletic is providing an Anti-Microbial finish on all of the custom wood athletic lockers it provides. This finish inhibits bacterial growth, mold, mildew and fungus on all wood surfaces. It is certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)and there will be NO change to the appearance of the wood finish. Up the level of defense and you can experience improvement in the constant battle against health and material damaging bacterial growth. Safe Guard your Team Today, protect against:
  • E. coli
  • Staph. Aureus
  • Campylobacter

Tough Questions, We have Answers

What are the Average Dimensions of athletic wood Lockers?

We get this question a lot and the simplest answer is it varies but you could say 24″ wide by 84″ high is “average”. However that is not that best answer. Instead of just looking at the average locker size and working on your project in that direction, it’s best to take each locker room as an individual case study. Would you just blindly design a division 1 basketball athletic locker at the average height? the answer is no. those players are on average taller then most and designing to the norm would just place seat heights, hooks, etc. at dimensions that don’t make sense.

Some Typical Dimensions

Recommended dimensions and sizes for all of our athletic wood lockers

Recommended Widths:

  • 18″, 21″, 24″, 27″, 30″, 33″, 36″

Recommended Heights:

  • 18″, 21″, 24″, 27″, 30″, 33″, 36″

Consider hockey wood lockers and the fact that hockey teams have goalies. Goalies have lots of extra equipment and protective pads. Spaces for goalies should be much wider then that of a normal player. If player lockers are 30″ wide then it would make sense for the goalie lockers to be say 36″ wide. There are many examples of how dimensions of athletic wood lockers vary from team to team. Prozone Athletic has done all the leg work and Requesting a Quote or more information from the experts will help ensure all of your athletic teams have lockers and team rooms that flow better and ergonomically make sense.
